Taralga Wildlife Park is now open and this is a fabulous way to spend a day in the school holidays. The Park is home to both exotic and native birds and animals and there is plenty to see or do as you explore the paths of the park. Where else in the Tablelands can you rub shoulders with a cheeky camel or watch dingos frolicking up close. There is an impressive collection of birds consisting of over 100 species from around the world. Friendship farm is a favourite among the smaller crowd with many curious furry friends available for feeding and or petting, great for that photo opportunity.
The Park is open Thursday to Monday 10am to 4pm and every day during school holidays, prices are adults $12.50, seniors $10.00, children $7.50 and family ticket $30.00, visitors can bring a picnic or use the BBQ facilities and you can purchase snacks from the kiosk.
If you want to stay a night or two, available on the property is a quaint farmhouse. Wake up to the sweet sounds of the country whilst enjoying your coffee with the beautiful backdrop of the rolling hills. The farmhouse features three bedrooms, a renovated country style kitchen, lounge room with open fire and outdoor barbecue facilities.
Taralga has a lot to offer the day traveller or those staying a little longer, with B&Bs, pubs, cafes, speciality shopping and a general store. The Taralga Museum is also an interesting and worthwhile attraction offering historical tours of days gone by, operated by the Taralga Historical Society.
