Wombeyan Karst Reserve...

Escape to the natural wonder of Wombeyan Caves. Set in a secluded valley and hidden amongst the rugged beauty of the Southern Tablelands. The caves are the pride of Wombeyan but even without them the park provides a diversity of rewarding experiences.

Imagine a place so ancient that it was old before the first dinosaur walked the earth. Over millions of years a maze of underground passages, streams and caverns has developed. Known to the Aboriginal people for tens of thousands of years, they were rediscovered by Europeans in 1828 when explorers stumbled across a vast opening leading into the amazing depths below.

The park offers underworld tours with an experienced guide leading you through the ancient chambers, underworld adventures that explore off the formed tracks and above the underworld activities including spectacular bushwalks and excellent swimming in summer.

Wombeyan has range of accommodation including camping, caravanning, cabins, cottage and dormitories.
